Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Honestly ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Honestly iPhone app and this website. Honestly is a personal daily-reflection app.

Reflection content and iCloud

Your reflections, favorites, and app preferences are stored on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled for your installation, this information may synchronize through your private iCloud account so it can be available on your Apple devices. We do not access, sell, use for advertising, or use your reflection text to train advertising or marketing systems.

Information we may collect

• Product activity and device identifiers. When analytics is enabled, we receive limited events such as app opens, question views, completed reflections, and purchase-flow activity, together with technical identifiers needed to understand product use. These events do not include reflection text.
• Diagnostics. We may receive limited crash and performance information, such as app version and device details, to investigate reliability issues. The app is designed to remove free-form reflection content before diagnostic information is sent.
• Subscription status. If you choose a paid subscription, Apple processes your payment. RevenueCat helps us verify your subscription entitlement. We do not collect or store your full payment-card number.
• Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include so we can respond.

How we use information

We use this information to provide and improve Honestly, support iCloud synchronization where available, understand aggregate app use, maintain subscriptions, respond to support requests, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, or use your reflections to create advertising profiles.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers only to operate the app: Apple for iCloud and App Store purchases, PostHog for limited analytics and diagnostics, and RevenueCat for subscription management. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Honestly or others.

Retention and deletion

Reflection content remains on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account until you delete it or remove it through your Apple account settings. You can delete individual reflections in the app. Analytics and diagnostic information are retained only for as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or aggregated. We keep support communications only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain our records, unless a longer period is required by law.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can manage iCloud in Apple device settings and manage subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings. You may ask us about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights by emailing hello@honestly.app. We may need to verify a request before responding. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law.

Children's privacy

Honestly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will address the request.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Honestly changes or as required by law. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. For material changes, we may also provide notice in the app or by another appropriate method.
